Cristiano's Story:

I see all of my clients as unique individuals. Each client requires a distinct fitness program, which I design to accommodate their specific needs so that they can achieve their optimal level of fitness. I always do my best to keep track of their progress in order to keep them motivated to achieve their fitness goals. Since 2008, when I entered into a 4 year Kinesiology program in Brazil, my conception about health and fitness changed completely; I started to see the human body as a very well organized and complex organism. Furthermore, I realized that the body must be seen as a whole, in order to develop the 10 recognized physical domains, as well as to bring psychological, emotional and social well being to the individual.

While studying at the the Faculdade de Tecnologia e Ciencias (FTC) University, I worked as a personal trainer in the University's gym. I was elected by my peers as the leader of my class, and graduated amongst the highest achievers. Afterwards I was selected by my professor Alexandre Dortas, to become his exercise physiologist assistant at Esporte Clube Bahia (Bahia, Brazil’s first division professional soccer team). At Esporte Club Bahia, I assessed the athletes body composition, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, and cardio-respiratory endurance to improve their optimal performance. I also worked at Dortas’s Sport Medicine Institute (IMED) until I moved to the US in 2012. The wide range of experiences I have had from assessing and training professional athletes to fit young adults, adults,  sedentary individuals, or the elderly has opened my eyes and given me perspective of how I can offer my services to a clientele in need of a wide variety of fitness prescriptions.

When I moved to Santa Cruz in 2012, I joined the CrossFit Amundson gym, and by November of 2013 I became a CrossFit Level 1 Certified Instructor. I witnessed how Crossfit has affected my own personal fitness level, and I believe that Crossfit is a highly structured fitness program that can work for anyone at any level. In order to expand my knowledge and ability as a trainer, in 2015, I pursued my goal and became an ACSM certified personal trainer in order to actualize my Kinesiology Degree here in the US. Afterwards I was hired as a personal trainer by InShape Health Clubs in Santa Cruz, and moved on to become a Tier III Personal Trainer at the Elite Equinox Gym in Palo Alto. While working at Equinox I took advantage of the many workshops offered to trainers, which has shaped my methodology and refined my approach as a trainer.

However my dream has always been to open up my own Studio where I can train my clients in the comfort of a private fitness studio.
